I bought the late Allen Carr’s book just a little over a year ago. I read it, put out my last cigarette, and haven’t touched one since. I just wish I could thank Mr. Carr personally for helping me drag myself out of my own personal hell. I had smoked 2-3 packs a day since high school and was afraid I would never be able to put them down – I was even telling myself I didn’t WANT to quit.
How I found this book is a little strange – I was looking at Sir Anthony Hopkins’ bio on the Internet Movie Database and read a little snippet of trivia that said he “Quit smoking using the Allen Carr method.” After a little bit of research, I found the book on Amazon.com and ordered it. I read it in about two weeks, and put out my last cigarette when I read the final page and closed the book. In 12 months and two weeks, I have not picked up another cigarette.
I would recommend this book to *ANY* smoker who wants to get out of the deadly prison into which they’ve entrapped themselves and either doesn’t know how to quit, or doesn’t believe they have the power or ability to do so. Allen Carr did it, and so did I… with his help. Great Book!
